Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said today that his international president Pravin Togadia “disappeared” in the morning and held a demonstration calling for “being followed”.
The VHP claimed that Togadia, 62, was detained by the Rajasthan police in one case, but that he denied him.
Officials from the local Sola police station said that a Rajasthan police force had visited them today to execute an arrest warrant against the Hindutva chief under Article 188 (disobedience to the order) in an old case duly proclaimed by a CPI official, but in his Residence could not be found.
VHP workers besieged the Sola police station, shouting slogans and blocking traffic on the main street, Sarkehj-Gandhinagar, demanding that the police track them down immediately.
“Our head of international work, Pravin Togadia, is missing today since 10 am, responsibility for his fate and his security lies with the government,” said the Secretary General of the Gujarat group to journalists. VHP, Ranchod Bharwad.
He said that the moment Togadia was arrested or not has not yet been confirmed.
However, VHP spokesman Jay Shah said Togadia had been arrested by the Rajasthan police in an old case. “Our leader Pravin Togadia has been arrested in an old case and the Rajasthan police have taken VHP headquarters to the city’s Paldi area,” he said. However, the Rajasthan police denied the arrest or capture of Togadia.

The Sola police said the Rajasthan police had asked for their help to execute the arrest warrant against Togadia.
